City of London is synonymous to finance and banking. Here, hundreds if not thousands of world’s biggest banks and financial institutions rub shoulders. In this small area of a square mile, old and new architecture stand next to each other. From the infamous Tower of London which once imprisoned Elizabeth I, to St Paul’s Cathedral which underwent a rebirth by fire, to the gold gilded roofs of Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Major of London, and of course the 500-year-old Bank of England. Modern architecture adds skyscrapers of various flavours to the skyline of the City, such as 30 St Mary Axe, more commonly known as “the Gherkin”, or the futuristic “Inside-Out” Lloyd’s Building.
The shortage of residential properties in and around the City makes the glittering night view a luxury for its workers. However the recent prestigious development One Tower Bridge, by Berkeley Groups, offers a unique and satisfying possibility. HWCD is proud to have completed a design for the Wessex Penthouse, the one last remaining penthouse still available at One Tower Bridge. This penthouse comes with 150 square metres of roof terrace, offering an unrivalled view of the City and the Tower Bridge. The roof terrace is complete with jacuzzi, barbeque, an outdoor kitchen and a bar. It is not just a rare opportunity to own a large outdoor space in central London, but also a life-style choice for the city elites to enjoy luxury living.
The design of the penthouse was inspired by the classic and elegant style of Monaco. The simple and streamlined curves reveal luxurious details, as well as expressing class of the residents. Blue stripes conjure up a scene of yachting in the azure Mediterranean Sea, while the subtle elegance of champagne gold sets tone for the high society party life.
HWCD’s design depicts grace and perfection of the much famed principality. The self-assured attitude permeates into various spaces of this dwelling, leaving an impression of a classy, outgoing and joyous lifestyle.
Coco Chanel once said “there is nothing more beautiful than to stretch your body.” The impressive sky lounge has everything of one’s fancy: a perfect place to chat, to party, and to embrace life in the city. Indeed what is more glamorous and intimate than to have a Sunday afternoon with family and friends, cocktail in hand, with the Tower Bridge and Shard as backdrop?
